Founded for almost a decade by a Latina entrepreneur, Beauty Republic operates at the intersection of intentional self-care, clean beauty education, and community empowerment. Our services include customized facial treatments centered around plant-based, non-invasive techniques — rooted in the philosophy that presence and skilled touch are as important as the products used. Our retail offering features thoughtfully sourced clean skincare that reflects the same values we bring to every treatment.

"I built Beauty Republic because I believed people deserved better — better ingredients, better information, and a space that actually felt like it was made for them. After years of watching clients walk in overwhelmed by overcomplicated routines and products full of ingredients they couldn't pronounce, I knew the beauty industry wasn't serving the people who needed it most.

So I built something different: a clean, intentional sanctuary where what goes on your skin is just as considered as how you feel when you walk through the door.

Beauty Republic has grown into something bigger than I ever imagined — 2,500+ clients, 25+ of the world's most trusted clean skincare brands, and a community of people who have come to trust that this space is genuinely for them. I've mentored 15+ estheticians — bringing safe, culturally competent care to their own communities. Because I've always believed that access to this knowledge shouldn't have a price tag.

What we put in, on, and around our bodies matters. No one should have to worry about being harmed while simply taking care of themselves. That belief is the foundation of everything we do here — and it's what's guiding Beauty Republic into its next chapter."

Marissa trained directly under Joëlle Ciocco in Paris — one of the world's most respected skin experts and the creator of Épidermologie®, a revolutionary method built on understanding the skin's microbiota, cutaneous breathing, and the body's natural anti-aging intelligence. Ciocco's approach treats the skin as a living ecosystem — not a surface to be corrected, but a complex, breathing environment to be understood and deeply supported.

This training fundamentally shaped how Marissa reads skin, selects products, and designs every treatment. The principles of Épidermologie® — understanding, cutaneous breathing, adaptive supplementation, and resilience — are woven into everything Beauty Republic does.

Gua Sha Facial Fusion™ · Thai Herbal Poultice

Cecily Braden is one of the most respected spa educators and facial therapy specialists in the industry — known for her mastery of Gua Sha Facial Fusion™, Thai herbal poultice therapies, and lymphatic techniques that bridge ancient healing traditions with modern esthetics practice.

Marissa trained with Cecily in Gua Sha — a technique rooted in Traditional Chinese Medicine that uses carefully guided strokes to stimulate circulation, release facial tension, sculpt contours, and support lymphatic drainage. This training added a powerful healing dimension to Marissa's hands-on practice, one that clients feel immediately and carry with them long after they leave the treatment room.

Via Skincare is a leading authority in reconstructive facial massage — specializing in buccal massage, sculptural facelifting, lymphatic drainage, and scar tissue release. Their method is built on the principle that skilled, intentional touch can restructure, lift, and restore the face without invasive procedures.

This training deepened Marissa's expertise in buccal massage and reconstructive facial techniques — an approach that works from the inside out to release deep muscular tension, improve facial symmetry, and deliver results that are visible from the very first session.

Facial Reflexology

Dien Chan Zone®

Certified · Trained with Amala Black

Marissa is certified in Dien Chan Zone® (DCZ) Facial Reflexology — a Vietnamese-originated, non-invasive therapeutic method developed by Prof. Bùi Quôc Châu in the 1980s. She trained directly with Amala Black, one of the leading DCZ practitioners and educators in the world.

Dien Chan Zone uses precise maps of points on the face that correspond to internal organs and body systems — making it one of the most sophisticated and holistic tools in Marissa's practice. The method offers rapid stress relief, addresses musculoskeletal pain, and improves lymphatic and blood circulation — leaving clients with a visibly rejuvenated, radiant appearance. It is one of the most profound ways Beauty Republic treats the whole person, not just the surface of the skin.

Embodied Movement

Open Floor International

Certified Teacher · 2023 · 10+ years of practice

Marissa has been dancing for over a decade and completed her Open Floor teacher certification in 2023 — one of the most rigorous and transformative embodiment teacher training programs in the world. Open Floor is a globally recognized, somatic movement practice that uses conscious dance and mindful movement as tools for healing, emotional intelligence, resilience, and authentic connection. It draws from somatic psychology, neuroscience, expressive arts, and embodiment traditions practiced across over 30 countries.

This practice has profoundly shaped Marissa's work as an esthetician. The belief that the body holds wisdom — that presence, breath, and intentional movement are pathways to healing — lives at the heart of every Beauty Republic treatment. When Marissa works with a client, she brings the same attentiveness she brings to the dance floor: full presence, deep listening, and the understanding that true restoration begins from within.
